International Students Day 2026

The University of Nairobi, the oldest and largest Institution has over the years attracted International Students. The International office led by the Directorate of Corporate affairs has made tremendous progress in improving the International Students experience while at the University; this includes organizing events such as the International Students Day that was approved by senate and is in the annual calendar of events of the Institution.
The International Students day is a day that the University sets aside to showcase and celebrate diversity. The students, with support, from their embassies and partners prepare exhibitions of their culture, they dress up in their national / traditional attires, network and engage through discourse, panel discussions and testimonials. This event is always held in November every year.

This year, the International Students day will be celebrated on 27th February, 2026. The theme of the day is, ‘Stronger together through Cultural Diversity’. Over 1000 students are expected to gather and showcase their culture, increase awareness through song and dance, interact with the different cultures at the University and increase their sense of belonging. The event will also see a crowning of the inaugural Mr and Miss UoN International Student.
